Introduction
Respect for human rights and for the principles mentioned below are mandatory criteria for FELSAN.
Child labour
The employment of children in violation of the provisions of ILO conventions is prohibited. (ILO Convention No. 138).
Forced and compulsory labour
Workers shall be free to terminate the employment relationship subject to the established notice periods. FELSAN shall not, under any circumstances, resort to forced and compulsory labour.
Work is considered forced and compulsory when it is demanded from an individual under threat and when that individual has not offered him- or herself voluntarily. (ILO Conventions Nos. 29 and 105).
Freedom of association
Workers shall have the right to associate freely, to join trade unions and to appoint representatives. FELSAN shall ensure that trade union independence and pluralism are respected. (ILO Conventions Nos. 87 and 135).
FELSAN undertakes to promote collective bargaining as a central element of social dialogue. (ILO Convention No. 68).
Remuneration and social benefits
Remuneration and social benefits shall comply with the legal minimum and the guaranteed and/or stipulated professional minimum. FELSAN recognises the principle of equal remuneration for workers with the same professional category and the same performance, in particular between men and women. (ILO Convention No. 100).
Working hours
Working hours must comply, at a minimum, with the applicable legislation in force, with the standards of the business sector, or with ILO conventions, depending on which regulation is the most stringent.
Discrimination
Any discrimination in hiring and professional development is prohibited, whether based on culture, nationality, sex, religion, political and trade union beliefs, differences in experience, professional background, physical characteristics, pregnancy, age, state of health or sexual orientation. (ILO Convention No. 111).
Health and safety
FELSAN undertakes to implement effective occupational health and safety policies based on prevention, in the form of action plans and commitments that involve each person according to his or her level of responsibility, including the social partners (ILO Convention No. 155). Workers must enjoy a healthy and safe working environment that meets or exceeds the applicable occupational health and safety standards.
Environment
FELSAN shall act in accordance with the precautionary principle in relation to environmental issues, take initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility, and encourage the development and dissemination of environmentally friendly technologies. To this end, it is in the process of obtaining ISO 14001 certification.
Chemical substances or other substances that pose a hazard if released into the environment shall be identified and controlled in such a way as to ensure that their handling, transport, storage, recycling or reuse and disposal are carried out under safe conditions.
FELSAN undertakes to adopt a voluntary policy in the field of research with the aim of developing and bringing its products to an increasingly higher level in terms of respect for the environment.
Business ethics
In any activity and business relationship, the highest level of integrity is expected. Any form of corruption, bribery, extortion and fraud is prohibited.
FELSAN undertakes to apply the foregoing text within its company.
In turn, it undertakes to obtain from its own suppliers a commitment similar to that which it adopts through the acceptance of this document.
